Imagine the possibilities of the downward angle!
The height of the ball is everything in pickleball. Imagine the possibilities when taking aim at your opponent’s shoe tops!
It forces your opponent to hit the next ball up, which puts you at an advantage. As Collin Johns, professional pickleball player explains, “The law of the downward angle – thee who angles a volley down first will win the point an enormous percentage of the time.”
Try taking pace off the ball as to angle it down at their feet.
This strategy dramatically turns the point in your favor.
Not only is it more difficult for the opposing player to hit a shot from their ankles, but it also lowers the odds of their return of an attack landing in. Play on, Picklers!
